Reopening FAQ

What can I expect as I enter the building?

As you enter our worship center doors, you can expect it to be a touchless experience.  We will have greeters holding the doors for you and answering any questions that you may have.

Is a face mask required to enter the building?

To partner with our governing authorities, we will now require masks to be worn unless singing or leading from the stage. Masks are not required for those under 11 years of age or special need situations.  If you do not have a mask, we have masks available.

What can I expect once I enter the building?

Once you enter the front doors, we ask that you use the worship foyer as a hallway, not a gathering place.  If you would like to gather with others for conversations, we ask that you do so outside on the patio or inside the worship center. We have hand sanitizing stations set up around the building as well.

Is the coffee bar open?

The coffee bar will be open and be a touchless experience.  You will place your order, the server (who is masked and gloved) will prepare your order for you.

What can I expect in the worship center?

You will be greeted by one of the members of our “First Impressions Team” and ushered to your seat.  We have the chairs separated for social distancing and ask that families social distance by household.

What about the offering and prayer cards?

The offering envelopes and prayer cards will still be available in the backs of the chairs.  The offering will be collected in baskets as you exit the worship center for a touchless experience.  And as always you can access our prayer cards online if you prefer to do so.

What can I expect for children’s ministry?

At this time, we will not yet be offering traditional on-site children’s ministry or nursery; however, we will provide resources to help engage your children with you during worship services.   We will keep you updated as the date for reopening that area comes closer.  In the meantime, you are welcome to bring your children and we will provide an activity bag for each child as well as an online message for them to watch while they are with you in the worship center.  They will need a device and headphones to view the online message.  And the nursing mother’s room will be open and available.

Will there be communion?

We will not be offering communion at this time.

When can small groups and ministry teams start meeting back inside the building?

Small groups and ministry teams can begin meeting in the building on June 29th.  We ask that you take the responsibility to sanitize your meeting space as you enter and as you leave.  We will have Clorox wipes available or a spray sanitizer and paper towels to do so.  Why?  During this pandemic, it is important that we all take responsibility and care for enduring cleanliness and sanitization as we enter and leave.  Although we and the YMCA have scheduled cleaning procedures in place, it is possible that people and other groups may enter areas after those times.  Please don’t assume that your area has been sanitized before you arrive.

Please contact info@ctkcharlotte.org if you have any other questions.  SO EXCITED to be back in worship with you!!
