Title: Miracles Over Demonic Forces
Miracles are a move of God beyond any human thought, ability or action. Miracles still exist and God still moves.
Psalm 77:14 NIV You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples.
Ephesians 6:12 ESV For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
The Unclean Spirit in the Synagogue – Mark 1:21-27
Notes: What does God want us to know?
Accusations and Lies – Mark 3:20-22
Notes: What are some ways the enemy lies to us?
People and Pigs – Mark 5:1-20
Notes: What does God want us to know?
Our Responsibility in Miracles over Demonic Forces:
1. We rejoice for the miracle.
2. We love the newly freed members of our family.
3. We never forget we are free and victorious through Christ.
Romans 8:37-39 ESV37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Title: Miracles Over Demonic Forces
- Recognizing the Battle: Read Ephesians 6:12. In what ways do you see evidence of spiritual warfare in your life or in our world today? How do we stay spiritually alert without becoming fearful? How do we recognize the difference between physical struggles and spiritual ones?
- Jesus’ Authority: Read Mark 1:21-27. Why is it significant that demons in Mark 1 and 5 immediately recognized Jesus? What does this reveal about His authority and character?
- Modern Captivity: What forms of “captivity” do people face today (e.g., addiction, shame, lies, systems of injustice)? How might the church respond more like Jesus?
- Miracles of Freedom: Have you witnessed or experienced a miracle of freedom in your life or someone else’s? What did it teach you about God’s power and love?
- Consequences of Freedom: The people in Mark 5 were more concerned about the pigs than the freed man. What does this say about how people sometimes respond to transformation? Why do you think people were afraid after the man among the tombs was set free?
- Rejoicing with the Freed: Why do you think it’s hard at times to celebrate when others find freedom? How can we become a more welcoming, supportive, and grace-filled community?
- Next Steps in Freedom: What role does prayer, community, and practical help play in someone’s journey out of bondage? How can you or your group be part of someone’s miracle story?
- Pray with and for each other.
