BAPTISM
Next Baptisms: November 3, 2024
At Christ the King, we believe that Baptism is a sacrament (commanded by Christ) with promises through His word as his adopted children. Through the waters of baptism, God establishes a relationship that establishes a way of forgiveness, new life, and salvation through his son Jesus. The Holy Spirit of God brings us to the fullness of this relationship as we accept God’s claim on our lives and His grace to save us through Jesus. This is when we become followers of Jesus. In baptism, it is like we go into the water and die with Christ so that we also live with Christ. We are a new creation. We affirm baptism at any age as God’s movement and claim on our lives as was the practice in the New Testament. We also affirm the need of the baptized to grow in the care of the Christian community so that he/she will live as a follower of Jesus and affirm the covenant relationship God has established.
