Title: Missional Zeal – OUT
Missional OUT = life being lived for other’s benefit – not our own!
What living OUT looks like:
- It looks like showing mercy to people – (Luke 10:25-32) Good Samaritan
- It looks like finding people for salvation’s sake. – (Luke 15:3-7) Lost Sheep
- It looks like a lifestyle of helping people. – (Matthew 25: 31-46) The Sheep and the Goats
- It looks like investing in teaching others about Jesus. – (Matthew 28:19-20) The Great Commission
- It looks like an overflowing cup of generosity.
Luke 6:38 NLT Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.
- It looks like living in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
What does “OUT” look like in your everyday walk with Jesus?
Notes on living in God’s COVENANT relationship and His KINGDOM agenda.
Family/Group Study Notes for the week of January 26, 2025
Series: The Balanced Life
Title: Missional Zeal – OUT
- Share with each other when you had the most joy serving someone else. What were you doing? What made it fun?
- How could the spiritual disciplines of simplicity, giving and service help you grow in the impact you make for God in the world? What are some initial steps you could take?
- Read Acts 1:8. Share with others in your family/group how you have experienced the power of the Holy Spirit guiding you to generosity, service and outreach? What are some ways in which you could be impacted more through hearing the voice of God and feeling the nudge of His Spirit?
- Read Matthew 25:31-46. What does Jesus want us to know from this passage? How were the lives different in those represented by the sheep or the goats? What were each unaware of? How does living in an intimate relationship with God, and loving His people, cause us to flow in generosity and service in ways we are not even aware of?
- Read Matthew 28:19-20. Think of ways you can help each other in your group or family grow in a deeper relationship with Jesus and the understanding of His Word. List some next steps. How can your group or family lead others to Christ?
- Where do you want to see a Kingdom change in your community? What would it look like? What could your family or group do to help make it happen?
- What is God laying on your heart for mission?
- Individually?
- With your family?
- With your community group?
- Through your church?
- Reflect on the following statements. Which of these are true in your life and family? What plan could you put in place to make them reality?
⇒ My family enjoys serving Jesus together.
⇒ My Christian community group serves the community together.
⇒ I have a clear purpose in making a difference in the world for Christ.
⇒ I look for opportunities to share what Jesus has done for me to others who do not know Jesus.
⇒ I pray regularly for those far from God.
⇒ I am spiritually coaching someone to know Jesus more.
⇒ I grieve for those who are treated unjustly.
⇒ I desire to learn more about how I can help someone who is struggling.
