Title: Clear Harvest

Mission Clarity:  Seeing clearly how your life is lived in this world for God’s purposes.

Clear Harvest:

Imagine a whole town coming to belief through one changed life.

John 4:1-42

Four points of mission clarity for drawing our communities to Jesus:

1. We are offering a free gift. John 4:10
2. Jesus is the one who can quench thirst. John 4: 13-15
3. There are a lot of thirsty people. John 4:28-30, John 4:40-42
4. Reaching thirsty people is messy. John 4:35-38

• • We will have to be available.
  • We have to be willing to meet new people.
  • We have to get past our prejudices.
  • We have to be a little vulnerable.
  • We won’t be able to control what harvest God brings.
  • We will have to realize the harvest isn’t someday. It is now!
    • 2 Corinthians 6:2-3

Title: Clear Harvest

• Review this definition of mission clarity:  Seeing clearly how your life is lived in this world for God’s purposes. Do you feel you know God’s purposes for your life?  Share with each other.  Are God’s purposes for your life lived in a particular job or career?  How is this true or not true?  How can you discover more about God’s purposes for you?  Make a plan.
• One aspect of mission clarity that God has for us is how we bring others to Jesus.  Read John 1:1-42. How does one changed life cause a flood of harvest for God’s Kingdom?

• How did Jesus and the women have to be vulnerable for a seed of God’s Kingdom to be planted? 
• Why do you think Jesus used the image of thirst with the women?  How do you think she was thirsty in a non-physical way?  How would you define this phrase:  “We live in a thirsty world.”?
• In what kind of ways are people emotionally and spiritually thirsty?  How could Jesus quench that thirst?
• How have you been thirsty?  How has Jesus quenched your thirst?
• Jesus says that the harvest for “thirsty people” is now.  Why did He state that in vs. 35-38?
• How can you be part of the joy of sowing and reaping that Jesus speaks of? Read the message notes under “Reaching thirsty people is messy”.  Discuss with each other how these changes would look in your life.
• Gather in smaller groups and pray for each other as harvesters and for the harvest of people to know Jesus.
