Title: God’s Solution for Sin
Sin keeps us from fully realizing the beautiful life God desires for us on this earth. In the book of Romans, Paul shares clearly God’s plan to deal with our sin, help us to live in the beauty of His grace, grow into the life He intends, and dive deeper into trust and faith that blesses not only ourselves, but each other and the world.
Romans 3:23 For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.
God’s goodness gives us a way out of sin, and faith puts us in the place of His blessing.
God’s Solution for Sin
The Grace Gift from God
Romans 3:24-25. 24 Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. 25 For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood.
Romans 5:18-21
The Necessity of Faith
Romans 3:21-22 nlt But now God has shown us a way to be made right with him without keeping the requirements of the law, as was promised in the writings of Moses and the prophets long ago. 22 We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.
Romans 3:27- 28
The Promises that Come through Faith
Romans 4:16
Right standing with God that brings peace.
Romans 5:1, Romans 5:9
Access to a living hope that has us stand in joy.
Romans 5:2
Love that can never be doubted.
Romans 5:8

Title: God’s Solution for Sin
Share with each other a time when you came out of a situation better than you deserved.
How would you describe a grace gift? How would it differ from a regular gift?
Read Romans 3:23-25. How would you describe grace in this passage? What does it mean to be justified before God? How did God justify us? What is the consequence of sin before God? What did Jesus do about that?
Read Romans 5:1. What does it mean to have peace with God because we are justified? What makes you be at peace with people that you have hurt or sinned against? How would this be like our peace with God through Jesus Christ?
Read Romans 5:9. How did the blood of Christ justify us or make us right before God? How do justification by the blood of Jesus and justification by faith go together? What does Paul want us to understand about what Jesus did and how we trust in what he did?
Read Romans 5:2-5. What is this hope that Paul speaks of? How does hope in what God has done bring joy in our daily lives? What does Paul want us to understand about this gift from God?
Read Romans 5:8. How does this passage make you feel? In what ways do you feel love from others? Have you ever doubted God’s love for you? If so – why? How does this passage change that thought? Who in your life needs to hear this promise?
Gather with your family or group and pray for each other that you may each live in faith, hope, joy, and peace in believing.
