Title: Spiritual Fire
The consistent rhythm of four disciplines produced a life-giving community of good will where generosity poured out, miracles were seen, people were saved, and the voice of God was heard in their lives and in the land.
To be “on fire” is to be unstoppable, enthusiastic, passionate, and performing at a high level. Being “on fire” for Jesus means:
Spiritual fire comes as we wait and abide in God.
Luke 24:49 “And now I will send the Holy Spirit, just as my Father promised. But stay here in the city until the Holy Spirit comes and fills you with power from heaven.”
John 15: 5-8 “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. 6Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into a pile to be burned. 7But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted! 8 When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father.”
Abiding with God looks like devotion to four disciplines within a rhythm of consistency.

Title: Spiritual Fire
* How would you describe devotion? In what ways is this word lived out in your life? *
Read Acts 2:42-47. What were the early Christians devoted to? What poured out of their lives because of their devotion to those four disciplines? Write them down! How would you evaluate your devotion to God in these four areas? Develop a plan for you and your family to increase your abiding time with God in these areas. Start a weekly journal to record where you see God at work as you live out these four disciplines.
Read John 15:1-8. What is Jesus saying in this passage? What is the good news? What is Jesus asking you to do? What will happen when you do it? What happens if you don’t do it? Share with each other where you struggle with this passage. Where do you want God to give you more insight?
Read 2 Timothy 3:1-7. What warning is Timothy receiving in this passage? What is happening to the people? Why does this happen? How do you see this happening in the world around you? How do you see signs of this in your life? What can you do to move back toward God? Read 2 Timothy 1:6-7. Why is this an important reminder for Timothy? Why is it an important reminder for you? How will you fan the flame of the Holy Spirit in your life?
What is God saying to you through this study? What will be your next steps?
