Series: So Now What?
Title: Be Spirit Led
The Holy Spirit does not equip us for personal gain, rather He empowers us for the Kingdom life.
Acts 1:6-8 So when they had come together, they asked him, “Lord, will you at
this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” He said to them, “It is not for you to
know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority. But you
will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my
witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the
earth.”
John 14:25-26 These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. 26 But
the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach
you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.

Title: Be Spirit Led
-
Is there anyone you know whom you would say is “Spirit Led”? What is it about
his/her decisions, life, character etc. that have you come to that conclusion?
-
Read Acts 1:6-11. What is on the minds of the disciples in this passage? What is on
the mind of Jesus? What will the giving of the Holy Spirit ignite in the disciples?
-
Read Acts 2:1-4. This passage is about the coming of the Holy Spirit that Jesus
promised. What was some of the evidence of the Spirit among the people? Vs.1
says they were gathered in one place. They would have had no idea this would be
the day the Holy Spirit would come upon them. What do you think they were doing
that made for this special Spirit anointing? Remember, Jesus had told them to stay
in the city, be ready, prepare yourselves, for the coming of the promised Spirit.
What could you and your family do daily to make room for the Holy Spirit to come
more fully upon you?
-
Read John 14: 15-27. What is Jesus offering in this passage? What do the disciples
need? What are some of the gifts that the Holy Spirit will bring? How might they
receive the Holy Spirit more fully?
-
Read Romans 14:7, Galatians 5:22, Acts 2:42-47. In each of these passages discuss
the differences the Holy Spirit makes in a life. What aspects of the Holy Spirit gifts
do you most need right now? Why? What would our families and communities look
like if more people were Spirit led?
-
Jesus ties the Holy Spirit with the witness of the Gospel and increase of His
Kingdom. How do you need the Holy Spirit to give you a bolder, more confident
witness of Jesus to others?
-
Gather as a family or group and pray for each other to receive the Holy Spirit and
become Spirit led.
