Series: A Tour of Ephesians – The Walls Will Fall
Title: Under One Name
Ephesians 3:14-20 For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named. 16 I pray that according to the wealth of his glory he will grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inner person, 17 that Christ will dwell in your hearts through faith, so that, because you have been rooted and grounded in love, 18 you will be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and thus to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you will be filled up to all the fullness of God. 20 Now to him who by the power that is working within us is able to do far beyond all that we ask or think, 21 to him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
Families come in all forms and God is the Father of them all.
The most important character trait we can learn and teach our children is to bend our knees before our Heavenly Father.
Ephesians 3: 14-15 reminds us of three things:
1) God is worthy of our submission and honor!
2) We are a part of a much bigger family with a Heavenly Father who commands the universe.
3) God’s redemptive work in our broken families continues through our inclusion and interaction as one spiritual family under God.

Title: Under One Name
• Would you say you have spent more time teaching your children to be more like you or more like Jesus? Why? What would you change?
• What steps can you take as a father or parent to help your children have a deeper relationship with their Heavenly Father?
• Read Ephesians 1:15-23 and Ephesians 3:14-21. How could you implement aspects of this prayer over your children and in your family? What would it take to implement into your lives the aspects of this prayer. What value would this have in the lives of your children and even upon your identity and decisions as parents?
• In light of these two passages, what is it we should be saying to our children each day? What notes should we be writing? What would happen if we did?
•What support does your family most need currently to be more complete? What is God saying to you as you pray about this?
• What is the greatest barrier to Christian families supporting and helping families that are struggling? How might we overcome these barriers?
• Gather with each other and pray for all families. Pray that they might know God first and come under His will and way through the support of His people.
