Family/Study Group Notes for June 4, 2023
Series: A Tour of Ephesians – The Walls Will Fall
Title: Walls Come Down
- As you prepare for this study through Ephesians take some time to read through Ephesians with your family or group and note the specific themes that you see.
- Read Ephesians 1:15-20 & Ephesians 3:14-19. What is Paul praying that we would receive? List each of these blessings. As you pray for these to be true in your life, what action steps might go with them? Share with each other the difference these would make in your life.
- Read Ephesians 1: 1-2. What does Paul mean that he is called by the “will of God”?
- Read Acts chapter 9:1-19. What was Paul’s life about prior to this encounter? What was Paul’s life about after this encounter? How has your life changed upon asking the Lord Jesus in your life? Explain to your family/group how your life reflects the “will of God”.
- Read Ephesians 3: 1-3. Paul, in writing the book of Ephesians, was in a Roman prison. Why would he describe this time as a “prisoner of the Lord”? Paul continues by saying that he is imprisoned on behalf of the Gentiles. Literally, it was in bringing the gospel to the Gentiles and thus making them equal with the Jews, that caused the Jews and Romans to put Paul in prison.
- In what ways does your following Jesus bring hardship on you so others may know Jesus? How did Jesus do the same for you?
- Gather with your family/group and pray for each other as you seek to live for Jesus’ cause in the world.
