Face to Face With Your Spouse
5/19/19
Message Notes for May 19, 2019
Series: Face to Face
Title: Face to Face With My Spouse
1 Corinthians 13:12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.
Genesis 2:24 For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.
What keeps us from oneness?
- When together means separate!
- When a good thing crosses over to a distracting or dangerous thing!
- When your thing (as spouses) – becomes everyone’s thing!
- When busy is not productive – home or office!
In this digital age, how do we recover or simply achieve oneness?
- Sync up by powering down.
Ephesians 4:2-3 With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, 3 eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
- Use digital to build upon, but face to face to establish.
Ephesians 5:31-32 “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” 32 This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church.
- Don’t share what you won’t share with your spouse.
Romans 12:10 Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.
- Remember that time & intention are key.
