Title: Face to Face With Unbelievers
Luke 15:1-2 “Now the tax collectors and ‘sinners’ were all gathering around to hear him. But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, ‘This man welcomes sinners and eats with them’.\”
Two things that hold us back from coming face to face with unbelievers:
- Comfort
- Fear
Can we come face to face with our unbelief? Where do you have a hard time believing God?
We connect people to Jesus by first connecting to them.
How do we come face to face with unbelievers?
- Be Present
- Be Safe
- Be Personal

Title: Face to Face With Unbelievers
*We are here today because God has put people in our lives to care for us. Who were those individuals for you?
*When have you felt like an outsider at church? Why?
*Why is it easy for us to live in comfort and fear? How does comfort and fear often hold us back from coming face to face with unbelievers?
* Read Luke 15:1-2. What did Jesus risk by being with sinners? Why were the Pharisees and teachers surprised at Jesus’s relationship with unbelievers?
* Read Luke 14:1. What did Jesus do to be present with unbelievers? How did people react? How would people react if you did this?
*Where do you spend most of your time? Think about the places you are already present with unbelievers. Do you know their names? Do you know what matters to them? Do you know their hopes and dreams? Do you know their past? Do you want to spend more time with them?
*Pray for the unbelievers you are closest with and think about how God is leading you to be present, safe, and personal with them so you may connect them to Jesus.
