Temptation is common to everyone. Satan will find a way to temp you.
1 Peter 5:8 NLT Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.2 Corinthians 4:4 In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
Ephesians 6:12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. - How is God faithful to help us in times of temptation?
1 Corinthians 10:13-14 - He gives us protection!
Ephesians 6:13-18 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. 14 Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. 15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. 16 In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. 17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere. - He gives us direction!
John 12:31-32 The time for judging this world has come, when Satan, the ruler of this world, will be cast out. 32 And when I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw everyone to myself.

Series: The Faithfulness of God
Title: God’s Faithfulness to Help in Times of Temptation.
-
Read Mathew 21:1-17 and John 12:12-26. Spend some time in these two Palm Sunday narratives. What is similar and what is different in the two accounts? What do you see unusual happening? What do you think the crowd got right and what did they get wrong about Jesus? What do you learn about Jesus in these passages? What do you learn about yourself? What are the promises? What is Jesus asking you to do?
-
Read Ephesians 6:10-18. What are the promises in this passage? What do each of the pieces of armor mean? How can the truth of this passage help you in times of temptation?
-
Read 1 Corinthians 10:13-14. What is the promise in this passage? Think about a time when you fell to temptation. Why did that happen? Where was God when you fell? What would Jesus want you to know the next time you are tempted?
-
Read Psalm 91:1-12. How is God doing this in your life? How can you allow God to be this protective for you?
Gather with your group and pray for each other.
