Title: To Live is to Die
Dallas Willard’s Divine conspiracy
Flying upside down
“This is a parable of human existence in our times–not exactly that everyone is crashing, though there is enough of that–but most of us as individuals, and world society as a whole, live at high-speed, and often with no clue to whether we are flying upside down or right-side up.”
Romans 6:17,18
“Grace is not opposed to effort {which is action}, but to earning {which is attitude}” We choose the importance of deliberately choosing to be a disciple of Jesus Christ someone being with Jesus, learning to be like him.
Matthew 16:24-27
If you want to live you must first die.
John 12:20-26
1. Our life is not our own
1 Corinthians 6:19-20
2. We don’t conform to ever changing values
Ephesians 4:14-15
3. We know we will have struggles and rejoice in that
Romans 5:3-5
4. We acknowledge that we are not the King of our personal world God is,

Title: To Live is to Die
-
What are some of the ideas that you have heard about who Jesus is? Maybe what your non-Christian friends think? What did you think about Jesus before you were a Christian?
-
Do you live a life worth living? How do you view your life? As good, just going through the motions? How full do you feel your life is? Is there any part you feel your missing? How can growing deeper in Christ make your life fuller, more fulfilled?
-
Think about the phrase “To live is to die.” What does that phrase mean to you? Read Matthew 16:24-27 and John 12:20-26. How do you lose your life if you love it? How do you gain your life if you hate it? What does conforming to the world do to us?
-
What does it mean to take up your cross? What is scary about this? What stops you from doing this? How will your life be transformed if you take up the cross of Christ?
-
Fellowship, Service, Study, Simplicity, Chasity, Solitude, and Fasting which one/s do you do well in helping you draw deeper into the life and death or Christ? Which one/s do you need to work on to better die to yourself? How are you going to do this?
-
As you look at your life how are you going to die more to the world? As you look at your relationship with Jesus what needs to change in it to be more fully devoted to him? How in God’s Sense of the world can you live more fully by dying to yourself? What would your life look like if you did this?
