Title: Jesus As Life
Why is the resurrection of Jesus important?
Personal Notes:
Mark 16:1-8 nlt Saturday evening, when the Sabbath ended, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome went out and purchased burial spices so they could anoint Jesus’ body. 2 Very early on Sunday morning, just at sunrise, they went to the tomb. 3 On the way they were asking each other, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?” 4 But as they arrived, they looked up and saw that the stone, which was very large, had already been rolled aside. 5 When they entered the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a white robe sitting on the right side. The women were shocked, 6 but the angel said, “Don’t be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead! Look, this is where they laid his body. 7 Now go and tell his disciples, including Peter, that Jesus is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there, just as he told you before he died.” 8 The women fled from the tomb, trembling and bewildered, and they said nothing to anyone because they were too frightened.
Lessons from the tomb:
· Expect more from Jesus.
· Don’t just be an observer, the door is open for a reason.
· Hear and see what God wants you to know.
· Speaking life matters.

Title: Jesus As Life
* What are your earliest memories of Easter? What was it like? What experience stands out for you? What are your Easter family traditions? If celebrating Easter is new for you and your family, how would you like to make it memorable?
* Read Mark 16:1-8. If you were one of these women, what might you have been feeling on this morning? What do you find interesting or unusual in the passage? How is this version of Mark different from those of Mathew, Luke, and John? What do you think is the main emphasis for Mark’s recording of the resurrection? Why is believing in what God has said and promised so hard? How does faith play into this? What is faith for you?
* What does this passage encourage you to expect from Jesus? How has your lack of expectation kept you from seeking Him?
* Share with each other how you have looked into a work of Jesus and seen a miracle He has done in a life, circumstance or situation.
* Read John 20:19-23. Jesus does not hesitate to meet people where they are. Why did Jesus need to show up in this room? What gift did Jesus bring to the disciples? How was this life-giving? What is their commission forward?
* Share with each other how you need Jesus to show up in your life right now. Lift that up in prayer.
