Title: A Framework for Generosity
All needs met!
Acts 2:44-47
God’s generosity to us.
All provision is from God.
1 Chronicles 29:11-17
God’s generosity through us.
2 Corinthians 9: 6-12 Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. 7 You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” 8 And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. 9 As the Scriptures say, “They share freely and give generously to the poor. Their good deeds will be remembered forever.” 10 For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you. 11 Yes, you will be enriched in every way so that you can always be generous. And when we take your gifts to those who need them, they will thank God. 12 So two good things will result from this ministry of giving—the needs of the believers in Jerusalem will be met, and they will joyfully express their thanks to God.

Title: A Framework for Generosity
– Read Acts 2:44-47. The early church had such generosity to meet whatever need there was among them. What would it look like today for the people of the church to meet all need – spiritually, emotionally, physically, financially, socially? How would each person’s gifts be valued? How would each need to think of others as more valuable than themselves? How would we all have to love God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength and our neighbor as ourselves? Is this possible? How?
– Read 1 Chronicles 29:11-17. What does this passage say about the provision of God? How does this show the generosity of God? How else have you seen God be generous to you? How does Jesus express the generosity of God? In this passage, what is our motivation for giving and generosity? Who are we honoring in our generosity? What does generosity do to your own heart?
– Read Psalm 24:1 and Psalm 89:11. What do these passages say about God and the source of all that we have?
– Read Psalm 25:4-10. What value does the instruction in this Psalm have for us? How can we live this out each day? What difference do you think it will have in your life, purpose, and generosity?
– Read Psalm 145:17-21. What are the provisions and generosity of God in this passage? How can you respond to such goodness?
– Read 2 Corinthians 9:6-12. What does this passage say about God’s provision? What does sowing in generosity bring to you in God’s plan? Why does God want to give and want you to be a giver?
