Family/Group Study Notes for the week of September 29, 2024
Series: Influencers
Title: A Kingdom Influencer
* Share with your family/friends/group ways you think you could be an influencer for Jesus. In what ways is your Christian life recognized by others? Challenge each other to be bolder in your Christian influence.
* Read 1 Corinthians 16:1-5. Discuss with each other how you budget your income. Where do you need help to form a budget? How would life be different if you told your money where to go rather than asking where it went? How faithful are you in setting aside the “first fruits” of God’s income provision for you for God’s Kingdom agenda? What gets in the way? What joy do you experience in giving? How could your life be more disciplined and blessed if you set aside each week the first 10% for God’s work and the second 10% for long-term savings and lived within your means of the remaining income?
* Read the following passages: 2 Corinthians 9:6-15, 2 Corinthians 8:1-5, Matthew 6:19-26. What does God want you to know? What are the promises in these passages? What does God want you to do? What do these passages tell you about God or about yourself?
* Read 1 Corinthians 16:13-14. How does Satan and the world affect your ability to live this out? What kinds of influences are causing you to struggle with faith or stand firm on God’s promises and His truth? How can others band together with you to live this passage with courage and strength? What covenant can you make with each other?
* Think about those who serve as staff and volunteer leaders in your church. How can you make their service in ministry more joyful? How can you relieve their leadership responsibility by helping? Make a plan and connect with one of them this week.
* Gather with each other and pray for God’s Church and the resource for Gospel influence in the world.
