Series: It’s About Love

Title: Love and Sacrifice

  • Share with each other your experience with church through the stages of your life?
  • What would be your general definition of the Church? What does the Church mean to you personally?
  • Read Ephesians 5:25-30.  How is the Church described in this passage?  What is the relationship with the Church and Jesus?  Every believer makes up what is called the Church.  How do you see yourself in this passage? What is Jesus’ desire for the Church?  What did Jesus do for the Church?  How could you live more fully “as the Church” in thanksgiving for what Jesus has done for you?
  • Read Romans 5:6-11.  What does this passage say about you as the Church?  What does this passage say about God?  Why would God do this?  What does this move of God provide for us?  How does a friendship with God set us free to live for Him?
  • Read Revelation 21:2-4. How is the Church described?  Where do you see love in this passage? What is God’s heart for you?  What does God want for you?
  • In the passages above, how is love and sacrifice shown?
  • What causes people to try and have a relationship with Jesus without being a part of His Church?  In what ways is that impossible from what you learn from the Scriptures above?
  • In what ways has the Church influenced societies over the centuries?
  • Gather in prayer for each other for the Church and for people’s heart for Jesus and His Church.
