Title: Hope Gives Meaning to a Broken World
The essential aspects of hope that God provides give purpose to our days, secure our future, release our burdens and propel us forward toward our best life and divine calling.
Without hope our pessimism will consume us to nothingness.
Hebrews 6:19-20 We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, 20 where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.
Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
1 Peter 1:3-6 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, 5 who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 6 In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials…
The effects of a living hope:
-
Change in our lifestyle!
-
Change in our desire!
-
Change in our anxiety and fear!
-
Change in how we view perishable and imperishable! 1 Peter 1:23-35
-
Changes where we throw our anchor of hope! Romans 8:31-38
