The Holy Spirit of God in the Covid-19 Pandemic

What is God doing in this COVID-19 pandemic?

Who is the Holy Spirit?

John 16:7-14.

Acts 2:1-4 When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. 2 And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. 3 And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Signs of the Holy Spirit’s work.

• Ability and willingness to share Jesus person to person.

Acts 2:4

• Greater emphasis on being sent than being gathered.

Acts 2:5-6, Matthew 28:18-20

• A priority love for Jesus greater than the trappings of tradition.

Acts 2:11-12

• Genuine love for helping people.

Acts 2: 42-47

• Clear guidance in what God wants.

The Holy Spirit of God in the Covid-19 Pandemic

• How are you seeing God move in this Covid-19 pandemic? What has God been saying to you?  What will you do differently as things go back to normal? 

• How would you describe the work of the Holy Spirit in people’s lives? 

• Read John 16:7-15.  What do you learn about the role of the Holy Spirit in these passages?  How does the Holy Spirit convict a person?  How does the Holy Spirit help a person change?  How has the Holy Spirit guided you toward God’s path and God’s will?  Have you received a testimony through your obedience to this change? 

• How has the Holy Spirit opened your eyes to what God is doing?

• Read Acts chapter 2.  List the various ways the Holy Spirit is working in this passage.  What would God want you to know?  How would this influence of the Holy Spirit in people’s lives be confusing to others?  What made this spiritual community so attractive to others? (Acts 2:42-47)

• What could happen in our country right now if people where influenced by God’s Spirit?  How could it change our future?
