Title: The Transformed Life
1 Chronicles 29:28 Then he (David) dieda good age,of days, riches, and honor. And Solomon his son reigned in his place.
This phrase is how the writer of Chronicles summarizes David’s life. What would you want the last line of your life to be? Why? What would you change so that would be the case?
Take a moment to ponder the mistakes you have made in your life. What were the consequences to these mistakes? Mistakes can be a fertile ground for learning. What must take place in you for learning and change to happen?
What can Jesus do with your mistakes and sins? Read 1 Peter 2:24. How has God’s grace and forgiveness to you changed the way you live for Him? Does anyone recognize this change? Why or why not?
Read 1 Chronicles Chapter 28. Why did God not allow David to build the temple? What does David plead with Solomon and with the people to do? What would be the result of their obedience? Read 1 Chronicles 28:20. This reality is repeated many times for God’s people. How can it be an encouragement for you right now?
Read 1 Chronicles Chapter 29. How does David’s leadership of generosity
inspire others? Why was it important for him to lead in this way? What made them so joyful? What does David believe about God and provision? How does knowing this allow David and the people to live more impactful for God?
Who has modeled giving and service for you? How has that helped you grow as an authentic Jesus follower? Why do you think some Christians are so reserved to share how they give and how they order their lives for Jesus?
What is God saying to you through this study? What is something the Holy Spirit is saying He wants you to do or change?
Gather in groups and pray for each other.
